Surge bulbs are designed to be extremely easy to install and maintain — simply screw the bulb into any standard light fixture when the power is on and the Surge bulb will start charging its backup battery automatically. When the power goes out, you don't have to do anything! Surge automatically detects the outage and turns itself on, as long as the light switch is on.

In other words, you can install Surge bulbs like any other light bulb… the only difference is they’ll keep you out of the dark when a blackout occurs.
